Audiovisual Documentation and Presentation of Intangible Cultural Heritage
The Library Collection began taking form during the beginnings of Goriški muzej. In 1969, it was organised as an independent department. Since then it has been developing as a special public library inside the museum, which adheres to the rules of librarianship, technical standards, and the financial capabilities of the parent institution. Books are sorted by museum disciplines in a user-friendly and practical way.
The library stores books and other materials for all museum disciplines, and books considered to be museum objects. Books are arranged according to the storage principle. The library has a catalogue, which sorts the books according to alphabetical headwords and successive catalogue numbers. Over the last two decades, the electronic catalogue has been perfected in accordance with the programme for school libraries.
